James qualified as a professional member in 2008 having entered into the surveying profession through the Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors’ training trust (CSST). James has worked in the local property market with an independent surveying practice prior to joining the company. James is the head of our Party Wall team.
James has extensive experience in party wall matters and neighbourly matters and has been involved in a wide range of projects including; residential extensions, loft conversions and basement extension/conversion works acting for both Building and Adjoining Owner’s. James deals with the prospective planned works, producing pre-works condition schedules and Party Wall Awards. James has also acted as lead surveyor on development schemes for developers and Housing Associations.
James is an experienced Building Surveyor and has worked with clients ranging from Housing Associations, block management companies and individual private clients preparing specifications for minor and major works, administering cyclical repair and maintenance programmes and producing planned maintenance reports. Through these projects James has provided relevant and prudent advice whilst still maintaining and providing effective management of the works.
Alongside these professional services, he also provides detailed pre-acquisition advice within Building Survey reports to prospective purchasers of residential properties utilising his technical knowledge of residential property and experience within the local property market.
